Gansky has been on faculty in the School of Dentistry since 1996 and is currently the Lee Hysan Chair of Oral Epidemiology in the Division of Oral Epidemiology and Dental Public Health. He succeeds Thomas Lang, who retired in January. A leader in quantitative methods in oral health, oral health equity and health policy, he is director of the UCSF Center to Address Disparities in Children’s Oral Health (CAN-DO). Gansky is a consulting biostatistician with the UCSF Clinical & Transitional Science Institute (CTSI), as well as a faculty affiliate at the Bakar Computational Health Sciences Institute, the Institute for Global Health Sciences and the Philip R. Lee Institute for Health Policy Studies.
Urisman will join the school on June 1. She will play a central role in improving the patient experience at UCSF Dental Center and unifying the clinics into one system of care that can be integrated with UCSF Health. Urisman currently is a unit director at UCSF Health, where she has been a nurse and manager for 25 years. She holds a Master of Science in Healthcare Administration from UCSF School of Nursing, and has extensive experience managing all aspects of clinical operations. She will partner closely with department leadership, providers and clinical staff to optimize patient experience, patient flow and clinic processes.
