American Dental Association Extends Office Closure Recommendation

April 6—the date the American Dental Association (ADA) initially requested dental offices remain closed until—is quickly approaching. With the number of COVID-19 cases continuing to rapidly climb, the ADA has revised that date and is now recommending dental practices remain closed, except for emergency treatment, until April 30. This revision also supports the recommendation made by the United States Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. The close proximity of oral health professionals to patients and the difficulty in finding appropriate personal protective equipment both influenced the recommended extension. Read more here.
