Adaira L. Howell, RDH, BSDH, MS, is a lecturer and the community outreach coordinator at the Gene W. Hirschfeld School of Dental Hygiene at ODU. With experience as an educator, researcher, and clinical dental hygienist, she is also a published author. Howell’s research focuses on increasing access to dental care for underserved populations. She has a true passion for serving others and strives to create a community that focuses improving health equity for all.

Denise M. McKinney, PhD, RDH, is an associate professor and graduate program director at the Gene W. Hirschfeld School of Dental Hygiene at Old Dominion University (ODU) in Norfolk, Virginia. Her research interests include pediatric oral health, maternal and child oral health, and health policies. McKinney can be reached at dclaibor@odu.edu.
