Melissa A. Obrotka, BA, RDH, ICP, practices as an implant care practitioner at the North Jersey Design Center for Implant and Cosmetic Dentistry in Denville, New Jersey, where the maintenance and health of patients with implant dentistry are her daily clinical objectives. She is also a clinical adjunct professor at Bergen Community College in Paramus, New Jersey. Obrotka is the cofounder of RDH Innovations LLC and Dental Implants Uncovered with Shavonne Healy, MSDH, RDH. In 2016, she received the Hu-Friedy Master Clinician Award from the American Dental Hygienists’ Association for her outstanding clinical expertise in relating interdependence of clinical practice and patient education for the improvement of patient compliance and in 2017 she was named one of Dimensions of Dental Hygiene “Six Dental Hygienists You Want to Know” in the clinical practice category.

Nicole Fortune, RDH, MBA, is a full-time practicing dental hygienist with Brian D. Huber, DDS, MS, at Champlain Periodontal in South Burlington, Vermont, providing nonsurgical and preventive care. She is a recognized expert in training dental professionals in areas of periodontics, including peri-implantitis. Fortune has delivered multiple educational presentations to numerous institutions, clubs and professional groups across the country. She holds many certifications including CO2, diode, and Nd:YAG laser certification. Fortune received the 2017 Dental Hygienist of the Year Award from the Vermont Dental Hygienists’ Association.
