Scott M. Peters, DDS, is an assistant professor of oral and maxillofacial pathology at Columbia University Medical Center, College of Dental Medicine. He practices in the Columbia University oral diagnostics biopsy service and clinical oral pathology service at ColumbiaDoctors Midtown. He also serves as an adjunct assistant professor of oral histology at Rutgers School of Dental Medicine. A diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology, fellow of the American Academy of Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology, and the recipient of the academy’s William G. Jeffrey A. Burgess, DDS, MSD, is a former private practitioner who served as a research and clinical research assistant professor in the Department of Oral Medicine at the University of Washington School of Dentistry. Board certified in oral medicine, he was a National Institutes of Health fellow in the Department of Anesthesiology at the University of Washington Medical Center, and a consultant/attending at the medical center’s pain clinic.
