John C. Comisi, DDS, MAGD, is an associate professor in the Department of Oral Rehabilitation at the James B. Edwards College of Dental Medicine at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, where he directs the Operative II (adhesive and esthetic dentistry) course and chairs the dental materials committee. Prior to his appointment, Comisi practiced general dentistry in New York for 35 years. A member of the Academy of Dental Materials, American Academy of Cariology, American Association for Oral-Systemic Health, International and American Association of Dental Research, and the Dental Biomaterials Science-Research Scientific Advisory Board, he can be reached at comisi@musc.edu.

Deborah E. Fleming, RDH, MS, is the scientific affairs manager for the United States for Colgate Oral Pharmaceuticals. She has developed and presented courses to dental students, professional associations, dental societies and study clubs.
