John Burgess, DDS, MS, is the assistant dean for clinical research and the director of the Graduate Biomaterials Program at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. A prolific researcher and educator, he has authored more than 400 articles and presented over 900 CE courses.

Douglas A. Terry, DDS, is an adjunct professor in the Department of Restorative Sciences at the University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Dentistry and a professor emeritus in the Department of Restorative and Esthetic Dentistry at Vokkaligara Sangha Dental College and Hospital, Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences in Bengaluru in India.
