EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES
After reading this course, the participant should be able to:

  1. List various applications for dense polytetrafluorethylene (d-PTFE) barriers in periodontal procedures, and explain clinical considerations for their use.
  2. Describe using the “ice cream cone technique” with a d-PTFE barrier.
  3. Identify various factors and timing considerations for therapies involving implant placement for extracted teeth.
