This approach is a viable alternative to conventional complete dentures and complex, fixed, implant-supported prostheses.

After reading this course, the participant should be able to:

  1. Explain indications for implant-retained, tissue-supported overdentures in the treatment of dentulous patients, and considerations for appropriate case planning.
  2. Discuss various options for securing an implant-retained overdenture, and clinical factors that affect implant placement.
  3. List the recommended recall interval for this patient group.
