An examination of the current science supporting immediate placement of dental implants.

After reading this course, the participant should be able to:

  1. Describe the advantages of immediate dental implant placement and loading, as well as developments that allow predictable outcomes and factors affecting clinical success.
  2. Discuss the history of immediate implant placement and implant survival rates with this treatment modality.
  3. Explain the importance of case selection when using this approach, classification systems and treatment postulates, as well as care strategies for successful treatment.
