After reading this course, the participant should be able to:

  1. Explain risk factors for peri-implant mucositis and peri-implantitis, and the prevalence of these conditions.
  2. List some of the clinical factors that influence outcomes in dental implant therapy.
  3. Discuss specific prosthesis design features that increase the risk of peri-implant disease.
  4. Describe treatment strategies to minimize the risk of peri-implant mucositis and peri-implantitis.
