Educational Objectives

After reading this course, the participant should be able to:

  1. Explain the association between the absence of keratinized mucosa and increased risks of plaque accumulation, inflammation, and crestal bone loss around dental implants.
  2. Discuss the significance of soft tissue grafting in improving the phenotype, oral hygiene procedures, and esthetics associated with implant therapy.
  3. Identify the optimal amount and thickness of keratinized mucosa required for maintaining peri-implant health, along with the timing, types, and techniques of soft tissue grafting procedures.
