In root canal treatment, effectively cleaning and disinfecting canals – especially in the apical third – will help ensure successful outcomes.

After reading this course, the participant should be able to:

  1. Describe various approaches and methodologies for canal cleaning and disinfection during root canal treatment.
  2. Explain basic terms and concepts used to describe root canal anatomy.
  3. List common irrigants and their uses in endodontic cleaning and disinfection.
