EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES
After reading this course, the participant should be able to:
- Explain population projections for older adults in the United States and the ramifications for oral health professionals when treating this demographic.
- Identify caries risk factors for older adults.
- Describe interventions and other strategies for managing caries risk in this patient population.
- Discuss potential dexterity issues with older adults, as well as devices, modifications and techniques that can be suggested to facilitate effective self-care.
