Roopali Kulkarni, DMD, MPH, is a board-certified oral medicine specialist, an assistant professor of oral medicine, and the assistant director of the postgraduate oral medicine program at the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine in Philadelphia. She currently teaches predoctoral and postdoctoral students clinically and didactically. Kulkarni’s scholarly work focuses on both oral medicine and public health, with a special interest in oral potentially malignant disorders, temporomandibular joint dysfunction, obstructive sleep apnea, and health policy. She is an active researcher in the World Workshop on Oral Medicine and a senior fellow in the University of Pennsylvania Leonard Davis Institute of Health Economics. In addition to her faculty responsibilities, Kulkarni serves as an attending at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania and treats patients within the university health system.
