Annelli J. Román Irizarry, MPH, is a third-year student in the Doctor of Dental Medicine Program at the University of Puerto Rico (UPR) School of Dental Medicine in San Juan. Currently serving as president of the American Student Dental Association UPR Chapter, Román Irizarry’s research interests include periodontal medicine, surgical techniques, and the interdisciplinary relationship between orthodontics and periodontics. She is particularly interested in how systemic inflammatory markers and bone remodeling influence periodontal health and orthodontic treatment outcomes, with a focus on collaborative approaches to enhance patient care.
