OU Researcher Earns Grant to Seek Longer-Lasting Dental Composite

Sharukh S. Khajotia, BDS, PhD, associate dean for research at the University of Oklahoma College of Dentistry in Oklahoma City has received a grant from the National Institutes of Health to further his investigation into dental caries and composite restorative materials.

Sharukh S. Khajotia, BDS, PhD, associate dean for research at the University of Oklahoma College of Dentistry in Oklahoma City has received a grant from the National Institutes of Health to further his investigation into dental caries and composite restorative materials.

Under the grant, Khajotia is investigating which components of composite materials are more susceptible to decay, and which enzymes in saliva cause the most plaque. The grant also includes funding for dental hygiene and dental students to participate in the research.
