Researchers from Case Western Reserve University’s School of Dental Medicine in Cleveland have received a $4.2 million grant from the Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute to study treatments for dental caries in older adults.

The team will examine if two treatments are comparatively effective: topical silver diamine fluoride or a dental restoration that does not require a drill or fluoride. The outcome could lead to the adoption of a more effective standard for treating caries in this population.
