A new treatment center dedicated to caring for the oral health of people with disabilities has opened in the NYU College of Dentistry’s Weissman Building. The new center, NYU College of Dentistry’s Oral Health Center for People with Disabilities, provides comprehensive care for patients with disabilities who experience barriers to accessing care in traditional dental settings.

This 8,000-square-foot center is located at 1st Avenue and 24th Street in New York City features nine patient treatment rooms and two fully equipped sedation suites to provide both inhaled and intravenous sedation administered under the supervision of anesthesiologists.

Staffed by multidisciplinary faculty, the center’s patients are cared for by faculty at NYU College of Dentistry with expertise in treating people with disabilities. The center opened in February.
