Oral Health Professionals Top the Best Jobs List

Dental professionals have some of the best jobs in the nation, according to U.S. News & World Report, which ranks dentists first and orthodontists fifth on its 100 Best Jobs list for 2017.

Dental professionals have some of the best jobs in the nation, according to U.S. News & World Report, which ranks dentists first and orthodontists fifth on its 100 Best Jobs list for 2017. Health care jobs lead this year’s rankings in several of the report’s 15 categories.

Further down the 100 Best Jobs list, oral and maxillofacial surgeons rank ninth (tied with obstetricians and gynecologists), prosthodontists rank 21st, and dental hygienists rank 32nd. For Best Paying Job, oral and maxillofacial surgeons rank third and orthodontists rank fifth. Dentists once again took first and orthodontists claimed the fourth spot in the Best Health Care Jobs category. U.S. News & World Report draws data from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics to determine jobs with the greatest hiring demand, salary, growth potential, work-life balance and stress level.
