Colgate Bright Smiles, Bright Futures recently teamed with New York Yankees pitcher C.C. Sabathia to educate New York City elementary school children about the importance of optimal oral health during the Greater New York Smiles Program held at the Greater New York Dental Meeting.

Sabathia challenged the children to consider oral health as an important part of their overall well being that could have a major impact on their ability to perform in school and other areas of life. During their visit to the Greater New York Dental Meeting, the students boarded a Colgate dental van for screenings. Volunteers from local dental hygiene schools staffed brushing stations, teaching the children proper brushing techniques. Additionally, oral health-themed videos, games, activity stations, puppets, and costumed characters encouraged the students to limit sugar intake and maintain an effective self-care routine.
