The inaugural Emerging Infection Control Leader Award was presented during the Organization for Safety, Asepsis and Prevention’s annual symposium, held May 28–30 in Baltimore. The goal for the award is to help develop and promote the next generation of stars in the field of dental infection prevention and safety. Honored as an outstanding new advocate for infection control, Jessica Wilson was recognized for her work as a national speaker, trainer and educator who focuses on infection prevention and compliance. Employed by Hu-Friedy as an instrument management and infection prevention specialist, Wilson has worked with hundreds of dental practices to help them understand compliance regulations and best practices. A graduate of the University of Rhode Island, she holds a certificate in dental public health from A.T. Still University in Mesa, Arizona.

Celebrating more than 30 years of service to oral health care providers and patients, the Organization for Safety, Asepsis and Prevention (OSAP.org) is a growing community of clinicians, educators, students, policymakers and industry representatives advocating for safe and infection-free delivery of oral health care. The organization offers an extensive online collection of resources, publications, FAQs, checklists and toolkits to help dental professionals ensure that every visit is “The Safest Dental Visit” for patients and the dental team.
